KBAK currently provides 25 hours of live, local news weekly, and KBFX provides 16 hours of news weekly. KBAK produces three local programs: “Eyewitness News Investigates”, featuring the weeks’ high-profile investigations, “Health Alert”, focusing on local health issues, and Hometown Sports, following the local High School Football season.

In January 2011, both properties launched the first local news in Bakersfield broadcast in full High Definition.

Eyewitness News is a multiple winner of Emmy Awards from the NATAS Pacific Southwest Chapter, and has also been recently recognized for excellence by the Edward R Murrow Awards, National Press Photographers Association, RTNDA, and the Associated Press Television-Radio Association annual Mark Twain Awards.
