Bakersfield’s Eyewitness News Team Sweeps Six Golden Mike Awards

KBAK (CBS) AND KBFX (FOX) has been recognized with six prestigious Golden Mike Awards by the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California.

This chapter encompasses radio and television stations within several Southern California counties including: Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino and Ventura. The awards honor excellence in electronic journalism. Eyewitness News won six Golden Mikes in the Division B, Small Market Television category as follows:

Best News Reporting – “Illegals in California Prisons

Best Hard News Series Reporting – “Project Pit Bull

Best Investigative Reporting – “Mold Investigation”

Best Serious Feature Reporting – “PTSD: A Veteran’s Story”

Best Business and Consumer Reporting – “Money & Meals: Behind Bars”

Best Entertainment Reporting – “Hollywood comes to Town”

Eyewitness News airs on television stations KBAK-TV and KBFX-CD. Combined the stations provide 7 ½ hours a day Monday through Friday of local news content.
